Pattachitra Paintings are one of the most famous and oldest art forms of Odisha. The name "Pattachitra" comes from the Sanskrit word Patta which stands for canvas or chitra. It is a painting done on canvas with rich and colourful motifs and designs. These paintings showcase simple themes, mostly mythological characters.
Raas Leela takes place on the night when the gopis of Vrindavana sneak out of their house upon hearing Krishna’s flute. They dance with Lord Krishna throughout the night, and Krishna stretches the time to the length of a “Kalpa”, which in the Hindu timeline is 4.32 billion years. The Raas Leela depicts the true love and devotion between Krishna and his devotees.
